The 4th Mediterranean Forum

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to attend the 4th MEDITERRANEAN FORUM (MEDFORUM) for PhD students and young researchers in Chania, Crete, Greece on December 4-7, 2022. Organized by the CIHEAM - Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania under the aegis of the CIHEAM headquarters in Paris, the forum will take place at CIHEAM - MAICH’s Conference Center in Crete.

The MEDFORUM is becoming known as an interdisciplinary symposium in the agricultural sciences that provides opportunities for the exchange of knowledge, expertise, and ideas, as well as great networking. At the MEDFORUM, a wide array of scientific disciplines merge together and intersect with recent developments in agricultural, horticultural and forestry sciences that affect  the agro-food sector, rural development and sustainability in the Mediterranean basin and beyond.

The forum welcomes PhD students, young researchers, scientists, teachers and students as well as professionals in the agricultural and horticultural industry to establish new collaborations and contacts as they present and discuss their findings. The conference will comprise plenary and regular sessions, in addition to a display of posters.

In order to enable the participation of as many people as possible, there will be no registration fee. The working language will be English.

Chania is one of the most beautiful cities in Greece. It is located in the northern coastal area of the prefecture of Chania, an area of natural beauty with a long cultural heritage. Breathtaking sandy beaches spread out near green valleys and hills covered with olive trees that lead up to impressive snowy mountains. Famous long gorges such as Samaria and smaller, less-known ravines hide fascinating caves and historic monasteries.

We are looking forward to seeing you in Chania!
